A couple o’ Okie indie pop acts– Starlight Mints and Recorder–are making the drive down to Denton tonight for a show at Hailey’s where they’ll be met by Denton Radiohead devotees Grassfight.

The obvious draw here: Starlight Mints, whose debut release, 2000’s The Dream That Stuff Was Made Of, thrust the band onto the scene as a brash, punchy indie pop act worth keeping an eye on. While the band’s two subsequent releases maybe haven’t been on par with its inital disc, the listening public’s initial reaction appears to have been spot on.

Anyway, on to more pertinent things, like, why we’re talking about this show. Well, for one, it’s a pretty good lineup. And, for two, Spune Productions has handed us a pair to give away to a lucky DC9 reader. And we’ll do just that to the first person to send me an email with “The Junior Mint” in the subject line. Best of luck.

Update: Contest is over. Congrats to our winner.
