Listomania: Five Failed Musician-Celebrity Collaborations

Last month, She & Him's Volume Two hit stores, featuring the "unlikely dynamic duo" of actress Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward.

Since then, many celebrities have become jealous to achieve this same intellectual-indie success. Last year, Scarlett Johansson & Pete Yorn made a little CD called Break Up, that rose to the ranks of Starbucks-good.

After some smart, year-long microfiche research, it's become available that many celebrities and musicians have tried, alas, but never made it.

We here at DC9 at Night have acquired the list. Read it after the jump.

1. Amanda Peet & Ben Gibbard
My Mighty California Wife on the 405 (Sub Pop)

Ben Gibbard would follow her into the dark of her small-budget indie phenomena.

2. Viggo Mortensen & Jason Mraz
We Ain't No No Lonely, but We Be Be Men (Columbia)

A sword-wielding rap enterprise from the Lord of the Rings star.

3. Rachel Ray & Dan Auerbach
Werewolf (Jagjaguar)

Feel the power of the Black Keys frontman's guitar, and Rachel Rays' "nutrish" Great-Gig-in-the-Sky like howl.

4. Grey's Anatomy Cast & Thom Yorke
Newspapers Are Dead (unsigned)

Remember Eraser? This is like that, with more voice over.

5. Angelica Huston & Bon Iver
Florida, PA (Sub-Pop)

A quiet introspective-retrospective of the beautiful town of Florida, Pennsylvania--soon to be established through the popularity of this album.

Too bad these never made it.
