On Friday afternoon, the folks at KDGE-102.1 FM The Edge announced the bill to the 21st edition of their recurring Edgefest concert series. And, after years of disappointing bill after semi-disappointing bill, this one, finally, packs an actual punch.

At Pizza Hut Park in Frisco on Saturday, April 30 (yes, the very same day as the Arcade Fire show at Starplex) the biggest rock station in town will play host to performances from Jane's Addiction, Weezer, Social Distortion, Flogging Molly, Seether, Neon Trees, A Day To Remember, The Airborne Toxic Event, Dirty Heads, Middle Class Rut, Electric Touch, New Politics, AWOLNATION and, according to the station's website, some others who will be added shortly.

Sure, there are some spares there toward the bottom. But those headliners are pretty awesome, no?

Keep the Dallas Observer Free... Since we started the Dallas Observer, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Dallas, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Dallas with no paywalls.
