We were all scared there for a while, weren’t we? Earlier this year, it looked like the 33-year-old Greenville Avenue St. Patrick’s Day Parade might not happen, due to increasing fees and inadequate funds putting a kink in our beer-filled garden hose. And then Mark Cuban rolled out of bed, decided his checkbook was a little too heavy and saved the parade, thus assuring him Dallas sainthood, whatever that entails.

The Observer‘s St. Patrick’s Day concert, however, was never in danger of falling through. In fact, it’s sturdy as ever, anchored this year by Ryan Bingham & the Dead Horses. The former bull rider, now a roots-rock singer and Grammy- and Oscar-winner for 2009’s Crazy Heart soundtrack, is currently in the studio recording a follow-up to 2010’s Junky Star, so you can bet on some new songs. Jonathan Tyler & the Northern Lights support.

Gates at noon, and tickets are still available. Energy Square is located on the corner of Greenville and University.

Will you step up to support Dallas Observer this year?
