Times New Viking on Friday at The Lounge on Elm Street:
In lieu of any quality video from last night's Snoop Dogg concert, I give you Ohio's pride and joy, Times New Viking. After playing The Lounge, the band headed down to Austin for Fun Fun Fun Fest. And, according to their MySpace schedule they're playing in Memphis, Texas, tonight. Are we ready to adopt Memphis yet? Maybe it's all a part of Rick Perry's secret secession plan...

Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros on Saturday at The Loft:
This is where I shamelessly self-promote my show review of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. I'm running out of things to say about them, so I'll let the music speak for itself.

David Cook on Sunday at the Palladium Ballroom:
There was a lot of David Cook on YouTube this morning. So I couldn't ignore it, especially not from users like CougarsLoveCook. That's just awesome. I guess he didn't do "Billie Jean," so you'll have to live with this...

Keep the Dallas Observer Free... Since we started the Dallas Observer, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Dallas, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism.
