Giddy Up, Scofflaws!

The press release showed up a tad late in the in-box for us to make a 10 a.m. press conference in Arlington. Nonetheless, this heads-up. Local law-enforcement agencies are announcing the kick-off to the Third Annual Great Texas Warrant Roundup, which is "designed to target thousands of defendants with traffic, parking, city ordinance, penal code and higher charge warrants." And, yup, among the 200 participating jurisdictions you'll find every city, suburb and exurb in the DFW. No word yet on when it begins (the first was in early March; the second, mid-February), but just assume it's, oh, now. Safer that way.

KEEP THE DALLAS OBSERVER FREE... Since we started the Dallas Observer, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Dallas, and we'd like to keep it that way. With local media under siege, it's more important than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" program, allowing us to keep offering readers access to our incisive coverage of local news, food and culture with no paywalls.
