Drink the Cheapest Beer in Town (Five Cents!) With Us Tonight at the Observer Tweet Up Party

If you're planning on having happy hour at your usual watering hole you might want to consider joining us for a much happier happy hour, one where you'll spend less money on beer than you will for parking. The Observer is hosting a tweet up party at Anvil Pub (2638 Elm St.) to thank our loyal readers, Facebook fans and Twitter followers. We'll go ahead and include you witty commenters in that group as well. You're all welcomed to have a beer with us tonight from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and we promise the deals are worth the company of our motley crew. Fireman's #4 and Shiner are available for 5 cents (and that's not a typo), plus we'll have free appetizers and live entertainment. It's rare when social networking and actual human interaction intersect, but anything can happen when cheap beer and free food are involved. No RSVP is necessary, but you can let us know you're coming by sending a tweet to @ObserverDallas.

Support the independent voice of Dallas and help keep the future of Dallas Observer free.

Keep the Dallas Observer Free... Since we started the Dallas Observer, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Dallas, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Dallas with no paywalls.
