Our love-fest with area graphic design house Magnificent Beard continues this week, as the design group completely ditches the conventional with their concept for this week’s winner.
Designed to promote tomorrow night’s Granada Theater show with Sebadoh, Quasi and Dove Hunter, the poster isn’t actually a poster at all. It’s a goddamn cake. Which is, OK, kind of messy and impractical. So, rather than whip up a whole slew of these suckers, the MagBeard crew photographed their sloppy, abused cake, and printed up their photographs for the tangible take-home product.
It’s kind of genius — a little schmaltzy, a little punk rock, and definitely sweet (pun intended). Check out some images the designers also passed along, which show some serious care taken on the printing front.
