Leave it to a former Argentine engineer to make photography fun. Known internationally for his work with aerial photographs (especially those taken by kite) as well as handmade 3-D panoramic light boxes, Esteban Pastorino Diaz returns to Dallas and the Photographs Do Not Bend Gallery (1202 Dragon St., Suite 103) with his latest collection of amusing and entertaining photos. Though the highlight of this show will most likely be the selected images from the fun and colorful Yokohama Fairgrounds in Japan, there’s a special treat in store for the locals, as Pastorino arrived in town early to use Dallas as one of his subjects–so in addition to the shots taken from around the globe, be sure to check his pics of The Big D, which will definitely give locals a hometown view from an all-new vantage point. Esteban Pastorino Diaz: Invention is on display now through January 2, 2010, at Photographs Do Not Bend Gallery. Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.
