The humble bead looks insignificant, but over the course of history it has been used as currency in exchange for everything from goods and land to flashes of skin. It’s been strung on string, wires and nearly everything else that artists and jewelry designers can think of. And, bead by bead, it’s still a relatively inexpensive art form to pursue. Pros and newbies will benefit from Bead Renaissance, which includes classes, wholesale merchandise and other bead-related bounty.
