Although the plethora of products, beauty magazines and very confident reality show princesses might cause one to assume otherwise, only 2 percent of women consider themselves to be beautiful. Come on, ladies! Even without spouting platitudes about beauty coming from within, we can all agree that there’s something beautiful in us all. Maybe it’s your hair or smile. Maybe it’s something less obvious, like the shape of your eyebrows or your feet. Make-up artist Carmindy, from The Learning Channel’s What Not to Wear, thinks so and wrote a book about it, including tips on how to cultivate a positive mindset in addition to makeup tips and tricks. Carmindy signs Get Positively Beautiful/The Ultimate Guide to Looking and Feeling Gorgeous at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Barnes & Noble, 7700 W. Northwest Highway. Admission is free.
