NorthPark can be a confusing place sometimes. It’s a mall, but it’s not called a mall––it’s a center. I know that sounds a little pretentious (though not as arrogant as, say, The Shops) but NorthPark Center (8687 N. Central Expressway) has done a damn fine job of distinguishing itself from your run of the mill mall by making itself a center of shopping, dining, entertainment and, yes, art. Its latest exhibition is Through the Eyes of the Condor: An Aerial Vision of Latin America, a photographic retrospective of the work of local boy Robert B. Haas. In conjunction with his National Geographic book of the same name, 40 of Haas’ photographs covering 14 countries will be on display now through January 15, 2008 during mall hours on level two between Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom.
