Who wants to go to a three year-old’s birthday party? You do. Especially when it’s not for a booger-eating toddler, but actually for Art This Week (ATW). There won’t be any ponies, but we are promised drinks, eatables, music and, according to the website, “artfully juvenile games.” Fingers crossed it’s not Sudoku. If you’re not familiar with ATW, let’s fix that. It’s a website that features interviews with artist-y types at exhibitions in and around DFW. And they’re about to expand. The party will also launch ATW Feed, a new show focusing on social media and Internet type stuffs. So who says there’s not an art culture in Dallas? No, seriously, who? I want names and addresses so I can stop by, tell them about this and then do an overly aggressive “in your face” dance. Art This Week Turns 3 takes place at Central Trak, 800 Exposition Ave., on Friday, May 11th from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. It’s free and open to the public. Visit www.artthisweek.com.
