How often do you find yourself watching a cooking challenge on TV and longing for just one bite? Top Chef, Chopped, Iron Chef — they’re all entertainingly fun to watch, but nothing is better than witnessing a chef challenge in person. That’s why we’d love to invite you to Dallas Observer Iron Fork, a tasting event featuring sips and snacks from more than 20 local food destinations. Highlighting the evening is the Iron Fork Chef Challenge, wherein returning champ Scott Romano (Nick & Sam’s) will take on Matt McCallister (FT33) as they work their culinary magic on a basket of the best ingredients from Whole Foods, with a super secret special ingredient that they’ll make sing. Iron Fork is 7 to 10 p.m. Wednesday at the Dallas Contemporary (161 Glass St.) with special VIP early admission and exclusive sampling available for the real foodies in town. Admission is $50 to $90 and the event is 21 and up. Call 214-953-0948 or visit dallasobserver.com.
