Party-goers and hosts hold one truth to be self-evident: A party is only as good as the food served. To make sure your next shindig is one for the books, you’re going to have to toss the Buffalo wings, jalapeño poppers and Velveeta and Ro-tel to the wayside and offer your guests something truly tasty — tapas. If you’re new to the Spanish appetizers that make the world go round, then turn to the staff at Dallas Central Market’s Cooking School (5750 E. Lovers Lane) this week, because they’re hosting A Tapas Party. You’ll learn how to prepare some of the best munchies in town, like goat-cheese-stuffed piquillo peppers, mussels with chorizo, Spanish meatballs and tartas de higos (fig tarts). Grab an apron because the cooking begins at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Dallas Central Market location. The class is $60 per person, by reservation. Call 214-361-5754 or visit centralmarket.com.
