We all want a scientific cure for AIDS and HIV, but that seems to be a long time coming. The realistic cure is awareness, and with Dallas leading the state in new infections, our city is in need of some. Every year Lifewalk hosts a 5K in order to do that very thing; this is year 18. Participants get sponsors which fund AIDS services all over the metroplex, and currently Lifewalk has doled out more than $7 million. It’s easy to put it in the back of your mind, but don’t. Rally your troops–even pets are welcome–and head over to Lee Park on Sunday for the AIDS Arms Lifewalk. The 3.2-mile race through Turtle Creek will begin at 1 p.m., but registration is at noon. Call 214-521-5191 or visit lifewalk.org for more info.
