For 17 years, Dallas artists have been honoring the the Virgen de Guadalupe, also known as the patron saint of Mexico, with drawings, paintings, photography and sculptures in her likeness. Considering her image has also been seen in tree trunks, toast and a variety of drips and stains, we’re sure that she’d be pleased with the upgrade. As in past years, this show features art created in the last four years that has never been displayed at the Ice House. See the 17th Annual La Virgen de Guadalupe Art Exhibition from 1 to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and from noon to 6 p.m. Saturdays through January 2, 2009, at the Ice House Cultural Center, 1004 W. Page St. A reception with the artists takes place from 6 to 8 p.m. December 13. Admission is free. Call 214-670-7524 or visit DallasCulture.org.
Tuesdays-Saturdays. Starts: Dec. 5. Continues through Jan. 2, 2008
