It’s the City of Light, and the City of Love. It’s a city on the other side of the world, yet we all still love Paris, and not just in the springtime. Paris, Je T’aime (Paris, I Love You), is a must-see film all about loving Paris and loving love, told in 18 parts (each representing one of the city’s 20 boroughs). Featuring an ensemble cast of international film stars like Bob Hoskins, Gena Rowlands, Natalie Portman, Juliette Binoche, Rufus Sewell and Elijah Wood, the stories range from a romantically whimsical story of mime’s falling in love to a heartbreakingly sad piece about a mother who’s lost her child. With each 5- to 10-minute piece written and directed by a different critically acclaimed director with their own distinct style (think Gus Van Sant, Wes Craven, Alfonso Cuaron, the Coen Brothers, Christopher Doyle and, yes, Gerard Depardieu), the film shows just how varied love can really be. Paris, Je T’aime will be screened as part of the Magnolia at the Modern series at 6 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. Friday, 5 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. Sunday at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, 3200 Darnell St. Tickets are $7.50, $5.50 for Modern members. Call 817-738-9215 or visit themodern.org.
