Given its status as one of the most revered fairy tales in history, I think it’s pretty safe to assume everyone knows the story of Sleeping Beauty by now–beautiful princess goes into coma courtesy of attempted murder by bitchy fairy, only to awaken in the arms of Prince Charming 100 years later, etc., etc. If you’ll recall, the good fairy that saves Sleeping Beauty’s life also puts the rest of the castle help to sleep for a hundred years. We’re guessing the motivation behind this was the fear that some of them might draw dicks on Sleeping Beauty’s forehead. Honestly, we wouldn’t be surprised to find such tomfoolery on a frame or two of the classic Disney version, given the notorious perversion of their animators. Or maybe we’ve been to too many keg parties. Either way, it’s still an out-cold classic, and the stage version plays 7 p.m. Fridays, 2 and 7 p.m. Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays through October 12 at the Casa MañanaTheatre, 3101 W. Lancaster Ave. in Fort Worth. Tickets are $15 to $17. Call 817-332-2272 or visit casamanana.org.

Fridays, Saturdays, 7 p.m.; Saturdays, Sundays, 2 p.m. Starts: Sept. 26. Continues through Oct. 12, 2008
