There’s something special about handmade objects. Whether it’s a painting, drawing or sculpture, the fruit of someone’s labor is something to be appreciated, and sometimes it’s even better to be the creator yourself. Even if you’re not a pro at the fine arts, there’s still hope for you. Leave all the bells and whistles of technology aside and go low-tech for the day as you rediscover the awesomeness that is paper. With a little help from the Paper Nerds, you can learn how to create your own three-dimensional paper objects for yourself or gifts. In this weekend’s “Paper Sculptures” class, you’ll learn how to make paper flowers, paper birds, paper lanterns (complete with lights) and more. Get your fold on 1 p.m. Sunday at Paper Arts, 118 N.
