While the masses prepare for J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek Into Darkness, his second installment in the Star Trek reboot, real purists (and all children of the ’80s) know that there is only one Star Trek sequel, and that’s Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. Considered by some to be the greatest movie of all time, it introduced the masses to the Ceti eel, it turned Ricardo Montalban into the most vindictive superhuman ever, and it sent everyone on a two-movie search for the beloved (and dead) Spock. Though it’s probably been 20 years since you saw it on the big screen, the Texas Theatre (231 W. Jefferson Blvd.) brings it back in 35-mm style all weekend long. Join your Trekkie kin for some old-school Star Trek fun and scream “Khaaaaan!” in union at Friday’s 7 p.m. screening. Tickets are $9.50 with discounts available.
