If you’ve never seen an installment of Naked Girls Reading, you might have some preconceptions about what exactly is involved. You’d be right on a couple of them: One, there ARE naked girls. Two, they ARE reading. (You’re batting 1.000 so far.) But here’s where things might diverge from what you’re probably thinking: This is not a cheap excuse to show some skin and invite some gawkers. This is a legit literary event — one where books are cracked open, ladies read and you get lost in what they’re saying. Sure, it’s a juxtaposition of flesh and paper — it’s gleefully billed as such and hey, that’s part of the appeal. It gives a naughty wink and a burlesque sensibility to all things bookish, that’s for sure, making this a most remarkable story time. Friday’s installment is particularly intriguing. The theme is “That’s What She Said: Ladies and Literature,” featuring lit and poetry by and about women. Dallas lovelies (and burlesque superstars) Angi B’Lovely, Black Mariah, Courtney Crave and The Dirty Blonde settle in for this notable narrative event at 9 p.m. at the Quixotic World Theater, 2824 Main St. Tickets cost $15 to $20.
