Thank God for the French and poor white Southerners. In this politically correct age, marginalized groups can get mighty huffy about stereotyping, even if it’s sort of good-natured and just for laughs. Seriously, just try to put on a traditional minstrel show and see what happens (really seriously, do NOT do that). But we can still safely laugh at the French and trailer-park-dwelling red necks. The latter bunch takes the stage at WaterTower Theatre for The Great American Trailer Park Christmas Musical, sequel to 2004’s original GATPM, which again visits North Florida’s Armadillo Acres trailer park, where wacky rubes sing and dance their way through what sounds like a comic blend of Dickens, How the Grinch Stole Christmas and all those “reality” shows about country people on basic cable. Sunday’s performance is at 2 p.m. with additional shows running through January 4 at the Addison Theatre Centre, 5650 Addison Road. Tickets are $45 at watertowertheatre.org.
