Blue October's upcoming string of Texas dates takes them back to where it all began for a victory lap through their old stomping grounds. They'll play through all the classics to a sold-out House of Blues as part of their Argue With a Tree Tour.
This year also marks Blue October’s 30th anniversary as a Houston-born band. Yes, it’s likely that when you think of Blue October, the first songs to come to mind are “Hate Me” or “Into The Ocean” – which is understandable because those songs are spectacular and emotionally gripping – but the band had already been through a decade of development and signed, dropped, then resigned to Universal Records before they put out Foiled in 2006. Despite the long and arduous path to it, the record was certified Platinum less than a year after release, so it seems like they’d finally fallen into their groove.
The band recently took to Instagram to ask their fans which songs they’d want to hear on tour. Some kept their answers brief, listing only a few song names, but others went into excruciating detail and produced multiple paragraphs to back up their song selections.
“Oh I’m totally requesting each and every one from all four albums. Too much to ask?” a fan commented.
“Now I have to make a list and remember to return to this post. Was just talking to my family about your music. Made my mom cry because with your music I never felt alone in life. Your music was there for me through ups and downs.” another fan said.
Tickets have also sold out for Tannahill's Tavern in Fort Worth on June 5.
A Soundcheck Experience package is available for those wanting an upgraded experience. For an extra $135, fans can attend soundcheck, a Q&A and a photo with the band members. The package also includes an exclusive signed poster, a tour laminate and priority entry into the venue.
