Two of the top percussionists to ever come out of North Texas, Mike Dillon and Earl Harvin, have been teaming up for years to do their one-of-a-kind jazz performances. But the performances in the region have been few and far between of late–ever since Harvin moved to Berlin.
But the two will reunite for another performance in the “Jazz at The Kessler” music series at The Kessler Theater with the support of Yells At Eels. Here’s what I had to say about it in a blurb earlier this week:
Earl Harvin’s music career started with a pretty impressive bang, here
in Dallas. In 1989, he was a part of the prestigious One O’clock jazz
lab at the University of North Texas, and quickly immersed himself in
the Dallas jazz and rock scene.
After an illustrious career here in Dallas, Harvin moved to Los Angeles
for a few years, followed by Berlin, Germany, where he currently lives.
He’s toured and recorded with French band Air, Seal, Pet Shop Boys, The
Frames, Psychedelic Furs, and many more. Catch him at The Kessler
Theater for a night of awesome music from a Dallas Legend.
And the folks over at the Kessler have been kind enough to pass along a pair of tickets for us to give away to a lucky DC9 reader. Just be the first to email Pete with “Jimmy Jazz” in the subject line, and the tickets will be yours. Good Luck!
