News Team Assemble Hopes To Slurp Up A Win In 7-Eleven Battle Of The Bands

7-Eleven and its cold-blooded broham, the Slurpee, have been looking for America's next great rock band with a nation-wide Battle of the Bands. The competition has been narrowed down to 12 finalists, one of which is Arlington's News Team Assemble.

The alt-rock foursome, which apparently has indeed seen Anchorman once or twice, has been faring well in the competition and is quickly approaching the big $10,000 prize.

In the meantime, they'll be playing with ATL rapper and producer B.o.B. at the House of Blues here in Dallas on August 6. Tickets are appropriately priced at the affordable $7.11. Oh, thank heaven.

If you're wishing you could make it to the show but have a nonnegotiable date with your computer instead, that's actually pretty perfect because the show will be streaming live for free on Slurpee's Facebook page. While you're there, you can take a peek at the other contestants and vote for your favorite.
