Belo Corp. chairman, president and chief executive officer Robert W. Decherd sent the troops a “Dear Fellow Employees” letter today in which he said, more or less, Hey, baby, everything’s gonna be fine–trust me, baby. More or less. Not really in those terms. You get the idea. Decherd, who was all but missing during the Dallas Morning News buyouts that scattered 111 writers and editors into the wind, wanted to update the remaining faithful about concerning the “progress on strategic initiatives being pursued enterprise-wide to reshape Belo’s operations in an increasingly Internet-centric marketplace.” I love it when Belo press releases talk dirty.
