Support the independent voice of Dallas and help keep the future of Dallas Observer free.
Who doesn't love a birthday party? One of Dallas' favorite dive bars, The Windmill Lounge on Maple, turns 7 and is celebrating this Friday with some hoopla and a bit of free grub.
Easy Slider food truck, which just earned a solid four tires from Reitz, will provide some nourishment beginning at 8 p.m. The first 100 little sammies are on the house (one per person and don't make them tell you twice). Order some old man drinks (Dark and Stormy is a fave) or, if you want to make it easy, just a nice cold beer.
Corey Howe of the Dead Flowers will have an acoustic set at 9 p.m.
Drinks, libations, cold beer and a whole bunch of BS will flow all night. Actually, BS flows every night. ... But, no matter, be sure to stop by to give Charlie and Louise some proper hind-side spankin's on this celebratory night.
Keep the Dallas Observer Free... Since we started the Dallas Observer, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Dallas, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Dallas with no paywalls.
