And, how fortunate for us, that special someone’s a high-profile local — none other than Erykah Badu, who yesterday welcomed her third child, a daughter, at 1:30 p.m. on the dot. Publicist Paul Levatino sends Unfair Park the tweet-by-tweet transcript from Badu and boyfriend Jay Electronica, the baby’s father; among the highlights, “My daughter is ready. Labor has begun. Everybody standback. No hospitals. No doctors. No medicine. Were waiting on midwife to show up” and “The midwife is here now and a few family members. Feels like a scene from the color purple.” Says here that Badu and boyfriend Jay Electronica are “the first hip-hop couple to ever tweet the birth of a new child,” for which I’ll just have to take their word.
