Your Baseball Season Guide to Pre- and Post-Game Eats and Drinks in Arlington
By Lauren Drewes Daniels
These days, he might be best known around town as a radio jock on KKDA-730 AM Soul 73, but Bobby Patterson, as longtime local music fans are already well aware, is far more than just another detached voice being transmitted over the airwaves.

In fact, once upon a time—in the early '70s, to be more specific—Patterson was on the other side of the game, not a jockey spinning soulful tunes, but rather a singer capable of producing the tracks that made the radio cut. Some of them did—most famously, his still-incredible soul ramp-up "Quiet! Do Not Disturb" off his shoulda-been breakthrough 1972 release, It's Just A Matter of Time—and as a result, Patterson's been Dallas' de facto greatest soul singer ever since.
At 66 years young, though, off-air, on-stage performances from Patterson are these days few and far between. So consider this booking quite the coup for the blossoming Kessler Theater, which should provide the perfect reverential setting for this deserving performer.
