Do This!
Star Wars Weekend at Alamo Drafthouse, 100 S. Central Expressway
It's the most wonderful time of the year, if you already have your tickets to Star Wars at least. This weekend, Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens in theaters across North Texas and it's mostly totally entirely completely sold out. But don't let that stop you from going to Alamo Drafthouse and participating in all the non-movie activities, like the photo ops in a life-size Millennium Falcon cockpit, or a life-size replica of Han Solo frozen in Carbonite. Or listen to the Richardson Symphony Orchestra quartet playing selections from the Star Wars score in the lobby at 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. There will be special-edition pint glasses, a Star Wars-inspired menu and surprise guests throughout the weekend.

Site 131 Opening, 131 Payne St.
If Joan Davidow's name sounds familiar, you likely recognize it from her time as the director of either the Arlington Museum of Art or Dallas Contemporary. This weekend, she and her son, Seth, open a new non-profit art space at 131 Payne St. Site 131 plans to focus on the connections between artists here, there and beyond. For its first exhibition, Davidow chose artists who use different processes of layering. She's combined Dallas-based artists Marjorie Schwarz and Arthur Peña with New Jersey-based artist Lauren Muggeo. The grand opening of the space takes place from 6-9 p.m. Saturday. More at site131.com.

Ruby Rose at It'll Do, 4322 Elm St.
If you just wanna dance this weekend, then you'll want to head to Ruby Rose's DJ set Friday night at It'll Do. If you're a big fan of Orange Is the New Black, you might want to head there too. Ruby Rose is the super sexy Stella who Piper has mad feelings for in the last season. The dance party is from 9 p.m.-2 a.m. and tickets are $40.

Eat This!
We recently stopped in at the Austin transplant Tacodeli and learned there's no such thing as too many choices. This taco joint is every kind of delicious. No, seriously, every kind. It's one of the restaurants in the Sylvan Thirty development, which we have to admit is coming together nicely.

The newest restaurant to open on Greenville Avenue is Wayward Sons (3525 Greenville Ave.) At least, we think it's the newest. It's hard to keep up these days. It's regional cooking with a twist and so far, we're big fans.

Our burger expert has eaten nearly every burger in town. No, seriously. And yet, somehow, Nick Rallo looks like a pretty healthy individual. If you're craving something a little unhealthy, a little fast foody, but better than a fast food restaurant, then the Double Stack at The Skellig (2409 N. Henderson Ave.) is the burger for you.

Hear This!
Classic Cult, Mantra Love & Siamese at Three Links, 2704 Elm St.
Classic Cult could still be considered a new band. Rockers Stephanie Burns, Adam Locklear, Aurora DeWilde and Miller Pyke have only performed a handful of times in the first few months of the band's existence. So don't miss the next show this weekend at Three Links. They're playing with Mantra Love and Siamese at 9 p.m. Sunday. All those names sound unfamiliar to you? Consider this your music adventure of the weekend.

Here Holy Spain at Double Wide, 3510 Commerce St.
Do you want to headbang like it's 1990 again? Do you long for the punk rock days of yester decade? Let Here Holy Spain keep those days alive for you, as if auto tune never happened. Doors open at 9 p.m. Saturday and the band shares the bill with The West Windows and Red Like Heat. Tickets are $5-$7.

Home Alone Party at Crown & Harp, 1914 Greenville Ave.
Let's keep partying like it's 1990 and dance to DJ sets by Half Asexual and DJ Shooknite, head bang to Problem Dogg or watch Home Alone and quote aloud lines like, "Buzz, your girlfriend, woof!" or "You're what the French call les incompétents." The free event at 8 p.m. Sunday will be accepting donations for the Genesis Women's Shelter.

Drink This!
We recently lost our trusted food critic Scott Reitz to the allure of Los Angeles' sandy beaches and year-round 75-degree weather. Before he left us for a sexier city, he gave us one last piece of advice: Drink the Carajillo at The Wild Detectives (314 W. 8th St.). Just read his description: "Imagine that familiar espresso shot glass filled with dark java, a twist of lemon lurking beneath the surface and the hot burn of brandy filling your nostrils." Yes, please.

Here at the Observer, we know how important drinking is to your daily routine. We've been drinking a lot of wine lately to put together a guide to the best wine lists in Dallas. From Carbone's to Bolsa to Boulevardier, we narrowed it down to just 10 restaurants who've put together an awesome selection and made the prices just right.

See This!
Nearly Naked Nutcracker at Trees, 2709 Elm St.
If you've ever thought to yourself that The Nutcracker should be more naked — and really who hasn't thought that — then you won't want to miss the annual Christmas show from Broads and Panties Burlesque. For five years running they have put an adults-only twist on the land of sweets and given us a new meaning for nut crackers. Let the ladies tease you with visions of a different kind of sugar plum fairy. This Nearly Naked Nutcracker takes place at Trees at 9 p.m. Saturday. More at broadsandpanties.com.

It's a Wonderful Life at Majestic Theatre
If you want to see a wholesome family movie in a large theater alongside a number of other wholesome Dallas families, the guys from the Texas Theatre are headed offsite to present a screening of It's a Wonderful Life at 5 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $10.

Confetti Eddie Holiday Variety Show, 823 Exposition Ave.
If you need a little bit of magic in your life this holiday season, the incredible Confetti Eddie has gathered a group of magicians, performers and musicians for a wild, sexy show. Head to Expo Park at 8:30 p.m. Friday. Tickets are $20-30.
