Founded in 1999 by Eduardo Vilaro, Luna Negra Dance Theater is now the country’s only professional company that presents the work of Latin choreographers. Specifically, those dedicated to giving Latino dancers and dance artists a solid, culturally supportive way of expressing themselves as well as their traditions. Luna Negra has long provided a melange of dance genre, mixing a little ballet, a little contemporary modern and a lot of Afro-Caribbean into one brilliant and invigorating show with dancers that are as athletic as they are soulful and skilled. The Latino Cultural Center, 2600 Live Oak St., welcomes Luna Negra 7:30 p.m. Saturday (a master class takes place at 10 a.m.; call for details). Tickets to the performance are $10 to $20. Call 214-670-3320.
