The closest I’ve ever come to Hawaiian food was eating at Islands every Sunday after church when I was a kid. See, the waitstaff wears Hawaiian shirts, and there’s a burger on the menu that you know is authentically Hawaiian because it includes pineapple slices. Yum! But if wine and gourmet food’s more your speed, check out the Hawaiian cooking demonstration at Chamberlain’s Fish Market Grill, 4525 Belt Line Road, 6:30 p.m. Friday. For $75, you can feast on dishes such as miso-glazed butterfish and soy-ginger braised short ribs, with not a burger in sight. For reservations, call 972-503-3474.
