For all of the pancakes she’s flipped for you, shouldn’t you take mom out for a delicious Mother’s Day brunch? Yes, you should. Because second to you, brunch — prepared by someone else — is mom’s favorite thing. Here’s a couple of stand-out menus to salivate over. Komali in Uptown uses all of my favorite words to describe its magical brunch: “a special 4-course menu of corn flan, squash blossom salad, seared scallops with crab and poblano roulade and tres leches cake with berries and merengue.” Whoa, sorry, I just passed out because that sounds amazing; especially for $35 per person before tax and tip. They’ll also be pouring $2 tamarind mimosas, and $5 bloody marys and house margaritas. Visit www.komalirestaurant.com. Is your mom passionate about all things French? Take her to Lavendou Bistro Provencal for grilled tenderloin with green peppercorn sauce; a gratin Dauphinois and French green beans; Raspberry Mousse Cake, and Cherries Jubilee over ice cream. (Stomach rumbling noises.) It’ll run you $34.95 per person. Visit www.lavendou.com.
