Clutch the pearls — Legally Blonde is a musical. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it’s been one before. We know. But now it’s this musical. The one performed by Level Ground Arts. And it has everything you’re looking for — music, dance, small dogs, big words, pink suits and absolutely no visible panty lines. About the only thing missing is Reese Witherspoon’s flaring nostrils and lisp. But honestly, you won’t even miss them because Legally Blonde is charming, y’all, and about as realistic as it gets. Who among us hasn’t earned a law degree just to spite some sweater vest in our life? I got HVAC-certified last week in pretty much an identical scenario. “I’ll show you” is still the greatest reason to do anything ever. Such as seeing this play. Head to KD Studio Theater, 2600 N. Stemmons Freeway. Performances continue through June 23 and start at 8:15 p.m. Tickets range from $15 to $180. I’m guessing for $180 you get to sit on stage. Prove me right at levelgroundarts.com.
Fridays, Saturdays, 8:15 p.m. Starts: June 2. Continues through June 23, 2012
