If there’s one thing I do not fancy, it’s an appointment with the eye doctor. It already takes an army of 15 to put drops in my eyes. Couple that eye neurosis with bright lights, that spirit-breaking air-puff test and utensils intended solely for eye touching and my visit can, in no way, ever be enjoyable. Once through the ocular gauntlet, however, I’m perfectly content with donning my nerdy frames (which stay an acceptable distance from my eyeballs) and correcting my half near-sighted, half far-sighted vision sans direct contact. Sounds like the characters in Rover Dramawerks’ latest children’s production have similar vision issues. The Near-Sighted Knight and the Far-Sighted Dragon, a medieval tale about a knight, a dragon, a “career-minded” princess and an evil duchess, sets the stage to teach kids about acceptance and, um, point of view (drumroll, please). See it for yourself at the Cox Building Playhouse, 1517 Avenue H in Plano, 7:30 p.m. Fridays; 11 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturdays; and 2 p.m. Sundays, with an additional performance at 5 p.m. April 2.
