Twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, for more than 38 years, the crisis prevention organization CONTACT has taken thousands of phone calls to help callers deal with “loneliness, anxiety, relationship problems, domestic violence, depression and suicide.””These are problems with which even a casual viewer of The Tonight Show can relate. So, to raise money for the cause, comedian and talk show host Jay Leno will perform live at the Majestic Theatre this Saturday.

Each year CONTACT honors those that give their time to benefit the health and well-being of the Dallas community, including current award recipients, Cheri and Pat Summerall and Chi Omega Alumnae Dallas Chapter. “This event is an opportunity each year to not only honor individuals and organizations who work tirelessly to make our community a better place but also to enjoy a night of entertainment,” CONTACT Executive Director Shonda Schaefer says. “With Jay Leno and this year’s award recipients, we are confident this event will continue the tradition.”

I suppose for people who talk to manic-depressive suicide candidates all day, this must truly be the most fun they’ll have all year. CONTACT welcomes Jay Leno at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Majestic Theatre, 1925 Elm St. Tickets range from $50 to $200. Call 972-233-0866 or visit liveatthemajestic.com.
