There are all kinds of things that pop up in my everyday life to remind me that of the 50 percent of the Beatles left on Earth, 50 percent of that 50 percent are lame. I’m looking at you, Ringo. Paul’s the only thing I have left—and what is he doing nowadays except making babies with a one-legged model? The upcoming Thomas the Tank Engine event hosted by the Age of Steam Railroad Museum makes everything worse; I have to face the fact that Ringo Starr’s most valuable contribution to society in the past 25 years is a short-lived TV stint as Thomas’ conductor on Thomas & Friends. Thanks for rubbing it in, Age of Steam. The Day Out With Thomas 2006: Come Ride the Rails Tour features 25-minute rides on a real train pimped out Thomas-style and runs Friday through Sunday and March 31 through April 2 at the Grapevine Vintage Railroad, 705 S. Main St. in Grapevine. Tickets are $16. Visit dallasrailwaymuseum.com.
Fridays-Sundays. Starts: March 24. Continues through April 2
