North Texas is full of artistic stars this summer at the Irving Arts Center, which hosts its 12th Annual Art Connection Member’s Exhibition, a non-juried celebration of local artists from a variety of media. Judged by Cheryl Vogel, Curator of Valley House Gallery and Sculpture Garden, the exhibition shows up to two pieces of artwork by current members that will be judged for cash awards in three categories: Student/Youth, Non-Professional and Professional (for those who derive all or a portion of their income from art sales) in addition to an overall “best of show” prize. Running from July 29 through September 8, the IAC hosts a reception and awards ceremony on July 29 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at 3333 North McArthur Boulevard in Irving. Call 972-252-ARTS (2787) or visit irvingartscenter.com for more information.

Sun., July 29, 2-4 p.m., 2012
