Local designer Tashumbra has that something special. It’s in the way prints are layered, the boldness of the color palette selected and the unexpected surprises that accompany the line’s “classic” looks. But there’s something else, something a little more uncommon that this designer offers that few others can: Tashumbra’s clothing can make any woman feel beautiful. Refusing to stay with one repeating cut or length, the line morphs into a closet of work that we’d all love to shop from, and Friday we’ll see that clothing in action as Tashumbra hosts Fashion Friday at House of Blues (2200 N. Lamar St.). The event features different area designers of note on the first Friday of each month, and your $15 ticket (buy it at fashionfridaysaugust@eventbrite.com) gets you appetizers, drink specials and an evening of club-style modeling, complete with a DJ. But the best part is meeting the designers. They’re the ones who are changing Dallas’ pattern in fashion’s greater fabric.
