You love the combination of skateboarding, art and rock and roll. Of course you do: You’re a reasonable, thinking human. But it’s rare to find those particular elements choreographed perfectly together. That changes 6:30 p.m. Friday as Overground Project hosts the third ever Culture Y’all, a party just oozing with skateboarding competitions, knee-knockingly dangerous artwork and yeah, music that will turn your brain into psychedelic pudding. One of the more interesting pieces of the evening is the inclusion of artist Malcolm Tent who, according to the show’s organizers, recently tagged Queen Elizabeth’s luxury boat with the phrase “a fascist regime,” an act that allegedly made Tent the target of a manhunt. There’s also music by Tokyo band Mugen Hoso, cash prizes for a tic-tac street course race and lots more. It’s only ten bucks and it’s happening at Overground Project (2117 S. Ervay St.).

Fri., Aug. 10, 6:30 p.m., 2012
