Local women’s group Friends in Deeds would like to invite you into the Empowerment Zone, wherein I can only assume you’ll feel like “Oh, no she didn’t!”-ing all over the place and telling your friends to “Go, girl!” In the Empowerment Zone, you’ll be asked, “Are You Living Your Best Life?” which is the title of the next Friends in Deeds lecture. If you’re like me, you’ll definitely need to be in an Empowerment Zone to face that question. I mean, did I really need to holler at the grocery-sacking boy because he put the milk in with the spinach? Thanks for the reminder, guys, er, I mean, gals. Saturday’s lecture features speakers Lisa Price, Tracy Martin Taylor, Sharon White and guest performer Rachel Little. The event lasts from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Texas Woman’s University lecture hall in Denton and costs $20. Call 1-866-55-TICKETS or visit friendsindeeds.org.
Sat., July 8, 1-5 p.m.
