Your kids are pushovers about Harry Potter; hand them any of the books and they’ll get lost at Hogwarts for weeks. And you’re no stranger to the series, having bought your own copies because you’ve had trouble stealing the kiddies’ copies when they’re asleep. But what about your friend or partner who gets snooty when you say the words Dumbledore or Quidditch? Perhaps Harry and the Potters can help. The indie-rock band from Norwood, Massachusetts, is a duo of brothers that celebrates the series in song, playing such surprisingly catchy odes to J.K. Rowling as “Save Ginny Weasley” and “Song for the Death Eaters.” If the brothers’ enthusiasm can’t win your sourpuss over, well, nothing but a Lumos spell will help with such enlightenment. Harry and the Potters perform at Garland’s Central Library, 625 Austin St., at 6:30 p.m. Admission is free. Call 972-205-2516.
Wed., Aug. 9, 6:30 p.m.
