The Green Mountain Energy Parade of Homes at the Bluffs at Winding Creek in McKinney made us feel like the biggest idiots on the face of the planet. The event’s name prompted us to wonder aloud, albeit for only 1.57 seconds, “They seriously plan to drive a bunch of model homes down the street and expect people to come out and watch? And how is that energy-efficient?” Then we promptly slapped ourselves, kicked our own shins and vowed to never speak out loud again. What actually happens is this: Five homes with “state-of-the-art amenities” are featured. These custom homes are showcased from Saturday through June 18 (closed Mondays and Tuesdays but open Memorial Day). Tickets are $6 to $11. Discount tickets available at Tom Thumb locations. Visit dallasbuilders.com for a map and directions.
Wednesdays-Sundays; Mon., May 29. Starts: May 27. Continues through June 18
