Keep Dallas Observer Free
We’re aiming to raise $10,000 by April 26. Your support ensures Dallas Observer can continue watching out for you and our community. No paywall. Always accessible. Daily online and weekly in print.
The No. 1 hobby on everyone’s list? Travel. And sometimes people even mean it. If you’re one of those mean-it types, check out the Travel & Adventure Show at the Dallas Convention Center (650 S. Griffin St.). Unlike other expos that are more like pamphlet parties, this event is truly interactive. You’ll have an opportunity to give ziplining a go, climb a rock wall and walk on water inside an inflatable sphere called the Bubble Roller. Free trips to Mexico, Ireland, Kenya and more will be up for grabs. And you can learn how the pros do it with presentations from Samantha Brown and Richard Wiese. The Dallas Zoo will be there too, so bring your camera or, you know, your phone. Stop by from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $9 for adults and children 16 and younger get in free.
