Jason Russell’s comedy renown comes from equal parts audience-management skills and sheer deviation. He’s been known to single out an innocent attendee and even drag them up on stage for playful confrontation. Once there, that human is left to Russell’s own devices. He can come off a bit schizophrenic; he channels voices, (situationally appropriate, not your dead relatives) and does impressions of his friends and family members in no specific order or tangible arc. By the end, you’ll feel a little crazy too. He’s attributed his shtick’s verbal hopscotch to ADD, and uses it to enhance his set by incorporating the condition into his performance. Get in on this Choose Your Own Adventure of humor at Hyena’s Dallas (5321 East Mockingbird Lane) through Saturday (with no show on Thanksgiving). Just don’t make heavy eye contact. Tickets range $10 to $15. Visit hyenascomedynightclub.com, or call 214-823-5233.
Fridays, Saturdays. Starts: Nov. 23. Continues through Nov. 24, 2012
