If you have ever wondered what it’s like to walk in the company of dinosaurs, you can find out now at the Heard Natural Science Museum. Because of recent advances in science and technology, there will be real, live dinosaurs at the museum’s Dinosaurs Alive! exhibit. Featured dinosaurs include T-Rex, Dilophosaurus and Deinonychus, all living and breathing for you to touch, smell and observe. It is completely safe. We promise. Forget about that whole Jurassic Park thing. The Heard is located at 1 Nature Place in McKinney; admission is $5 to $8. Kids under 3 get in free because watching them try to run away from the T-Rex is so priceless that they felt bad charging them. [Editor’s note: Actually, the dinosaurs are animatronic, but Andrea’s hatred of children is 100 percent authentic.] Museum hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Call 972-562-5566.
Mon., Nov. 6
