There’s not a lot to live for in this world, but fun holidays and cool accents are good reasons not to off oneself immediately. So when I’m sitting at home alone on a Saturday night, full of whiskey and self-hate, I like to remind myself of two things: Halloween and England. I’m immediately anxious for a plate of full English and a cat costume (complete with furry tail). I will, therefore, be in a pure state of euphoria at the British Emporium in Grapevine for its annual “Very British Halloween Carshow” on Sunday. An Anglo/Halloween-ophile’s dream, the show features a Rolls-Royce Phantom from the ’30s, a costume contest and a haunted tea room. The show is 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Emporium, 140 N. Main St. in Grapevine. Admission is free. Call 817-421-2311.
Sun., Oct. 29, 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
