The Science Guy?

There are things to be learned from Love Actually. First, the title must be pronounced with an upper-class accent (think Thurston Howell III), where “actually” has four syllables instead of three. It’s a moral imperative, and should be a required question on the SATs. Second, Hugh Grant is much hotter as a heartbreaking bastard than as a shy, bumbling underdog. In this film he finds some nice middle ground. Third, and most important to underachieving Brits, dudes who can’t get the time of day from women in England can always come to America to get laid. It’s the accent. This country was founded by the Queen’s rejects and will continue to welcome them. Finally, the true message of the film is one of love…for Bill Nighy. Its title should in fact be: Bill Nighy Rules Actually. Love Actually plays at 5:30 p.m. Saturday and 6:30 p.m. on December 21 at the Angelika in Dallas, 5321 E. Mockingbird Lane (Call 214-841-4700).
