Death of a Salesman is Arthur Miller’s signature play and a staple of American theater; however, it hasn’t exactly aged like fine wine. Willy Loman’s floundering salesman seems more like a relic of a forgotten time than a tragic hero of a tragic economy. If Miller were writing it today, he’d have his hero play a broker or a nondescript middle manager. Death of a Supervisor 2? Still, the manner in which Loman’s delusions begin to seal his fate, each one another nail in the coffin, packs quite a punch. Death of a Salesman will run at the ArtCentre Theatre, 1028 15th Place in Plano, from Thursday through September 24. Call 1-866-811-4111.
Thursdays, 7:30 p.m.; Fridays, Saturdays, 8 p.m.; Sun., Sept. 3, 3 p.m. Starts: Aug. 31. Continues through Sept. 24
